GIS Solutions Manager · Geospatial Data Engineer · Python Developer

Profile

I'm a GIS professional based in Watsonville, California, managing an enterprise geospatial platform that serves contributors across multiple continents.

My background spans cartography, remote sensing, and production software development, and I focus on building Python tooling and automation that bridges enterprise systems and turns spatial data into operational decisions.

I serve as GIS subject-matter expert across a range of projects, including machine-learning yield forecasting and other cross-functional geospatial work. I combine remote sensing and spatial data to solve new problems in agriculture.

Driscoll's

Watsonville, California

Progressive promotion through five roles since Jul 2021

  1. GIS Solutions Manager

    Jan 2026 – Present
    • Lead the platform and set its technical direction across custom GIS tools, reporting, and Python automation.
    • Define the data-quality standards that global contributors follow to produce high-quality spatial data.
    • Advise specialized teams on GIS strategy and implementation, and manage a GIS team.
    • Serve as ongoing GIS advisor to machine-learning initiatives across several disciplines, including yield forecasting.
  2. Supply Chain Analyst III

    Mar 2025 – Jan 2026
    • Built a production Python model that brings geographic context to core planning logic through a custom spatial supply network, supporting a major ERP deployment.
    • Established the geospatial foundation for that initiative, connecting internal spatial data to the external modeling pipeline.
  3. Supply Chain Analyst II

    Oct 2022 – Mar 2025
    • Built GIS automation and administrative tooling with the ArcGIS API for Python, plus RPA scripts extending workflows across and beyond the Esri ecosystem.
    • Designed and maintained Tableau reporting used across Supply Chain to support planning and forecasting.
    • Advised on a weather data project and built a Python pipeline that pulls provider-API weather data asynchronously across defined locations in the platform.
  4. Geographic Information Systems Analyst

    Feb 2022 – Oct 2022
    • Managed and supported the platform, maintaining custom GIS tools, Tableau reports, and Python-based solutions for data processing and automation. Helped global contributors create and maintain reliable spatial data.
  5. Field Technician I

    Jul 2021 – Feb 2022
    • Provided GIS analysis to drive research experiments, drawing on remote-sensing data, statistical methods, and scripting in Python and JavaScript.
    • Used ArcGIS Online and Survey123 to support time-sensitive experimental protocols; trained and directed technicians in field data-collection methods.

Earlier Experience

GIS Intern, Palomar College

Sep 2016 – Jan 2017
  • Cataloged and standardized GIS data for 400+ plants in the Palomar College Arboretum, designing and enforcing a uniform attribute structure before merging datasets.
  • Collected field GPS data and built maps and web apps in ArcGIS Online, working with the college arborist to ensure botanical accuracy.

Presentations

From Bugs to Floods: The Power of Vector and Raster GIS

2023

Esri User Conference, San Diego, CA

Co-presented two scenarios from our progression out of basic asset mapping. First, digitizing paper-based pest scouting into structured field-collection workflows across ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, Power Automate, and Tableau. Second, applying Sentinel-1 SAR imagery to detect flood extent in near real time during storm events, when field access was unavailable. Together they showed what vector and raster each bring: accuracy and speed.

Unlocking Berry Supply Chain Insights with Esri Apps

2025

Esri User Conference, San Diego, CA

Co-presented how we unified supply-chain systems into a single geospatial data ecosystem, integrating ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, Experience Builder, and ArcGIS Enterprise with Tableau, Excel, and Power Automate for automated pipelines and KPI dashboards. The result was real-time field intelligence covering pest tracking and yield forecasting, supported by AI-assisted insights.
